UKCF is home to two distinct units: 40 Commando and 47 Commando (Raiding Group_. Each unit has its own unique role, enlistment criteria, and training pathway. Whether you’re aiming to join as full-time or reserve, you’ll find the details below.
Note: All recruits complete Phase One training, covering general skills and drills. For certain roles, a Phase Two training phase will follow, focusing on unit-specific specialties.

40 Commando is UKCF’s elite infantry unit, specializing in high-speed raids, amphibious assaults, and deep-strike operations behind enemy lines.

Training: All recruits complete Phase One training before joining official events.
Minimum Age: 16+

47 Commando is the specialist support unit of UKCF, operating RHICC fast attack craft and Coyote Fire Support vehicles to provide mobility and fire support for UKCF operations.

Training: Recruits complete Phase One training (general skills) followed by Phase Two training (unit-specific specialization).
Minimum Age: 16+

29 Commando is a specialized unit within the British Army, trained to provide artillery support as part of UKCF. We are skilled in operating in diverse and challenging environments, from Arctic conditions to deserts, delivering precise and effective fire support to allied forces.

30 Commando provides signals and drone reconnaissance to all of UKCF. They are dedicated individuals who undergo significant training to be able to communicate on the fly. As well as operate drones whilst on the battlefield. Able to deal with high pressure situations? They might just be for you!
